Burning Man 2026 Engagement Report

Dear Sky Friends,
We are still dusting ourselves off from another successful year bringing Skyhorse Carousel to Burning man! What a year!
We couldn’t hope to expect anything to truly compare to our first time bringing it out, but this year still measured up well! As many of you know, we did an ungodly (and honestly unwise) amount of work over the last 9 months in our efforts to repaint the carousel scenery panels. So it was incredibly satisfying to see the carousel out there in all its glory for people to enjoy! We had a lot of visits from folks who had seen us in 2024 and were excited to ride again, and of course we made lots of new smiles as well.
The weather was definitely a challenge this year. It was the dustiest year I’ve ever seen in my now 17 burns. We had on and off whiteouts for about 6 days, though we did get some breaks mid-week before a little rain Thursday night brought a clear, dust-free end of the week. No matter the weather, when you’re out there you make the best of it, so we gave lots of dusty carousel rides and went out adventuring despite it. We also had some unexpected mechanical issues, but thanks to a dedicated crew we were able to continue running all week. Big thanks and major love to our team for helping us push through to the finish line over this work season, finally transforming the carousel into what we’ve envisioned from the start and allowing us to share it with thousands more visitors. I’m truly proud of what we have created together.
